Budapest – Pannonhalma – Badacsony – Szekszárd – Budapest

The tour is designed to offer the opportunity to discover and taste some of Hungary ’s best red and white wines. On route, you will visit important historic sites such as one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, the 10 th Century Baroque Abbey at Pannonhalma, another Baroque Abbey at Tihany and the Lichtenstein Castle.

Day 1:

Arriving at Budapest Airport where you are welcomed by our representative and escorted to your executive mini bus. Transfer to your 4 star Hotel. Free time in Budapest. Dinner at the Hotel with Champagne.

Day 2:

After breakfast traveling to Pannonhalma, where we visit the 10 th century Millenary Benedictine Abbey, UNESCO World Heritage site, its vineyard and cellar. After tasting the wines, we travel to Badacsony, where we visit the Szeremley winery. We stay for dinner at the vineyard restaurant, which has a unique panoramic view of the region. Then we travel to the Tihany Penninsula, north of the Lake Balaton, Central Europe’s largest lake, where we stay at a 4 star Hotel.

Day 3:

After breakfast we visit the Baroque Abbey in Tihany, built in the 9 th Century and the town of Tihany. Then, we travel south with a stop over at Tamási to visit the Eszterházy Hunting Lodge and Lichtestein Castle. We will make a second stop over at Szakály, where we visit the folk museum. Our next stop is Szekszárd, Hungary’s oldest and most renowned red wine growing area. After arriving in Szekszárd, we visit the cellar of Szekszárd RT winery for a private tour and wine tasting. We stay overnight at the Castle Hotel at Hőgyész.

Day 4:

After breakfast we travel back to Budapest and visit the House of Hungarian Wines for a tutored wine tasting. Free time in Budapest.

Day 5:

After breakfast travel to airport for your homeward journey.
